This is, so far, possibly the best cupcake ever, and unquestionably the best cupcake made in my kitchen. It’s a cupcake translation of tiramisu: A light sponge cake cuppie, with holes poked right after baking to soak up a drizzle of exceptionally strong coffee. Split in two, with an extra dip in the coffee for the cut parts, with coffee-mascarpone cheese icing piped generously in the middle and on top. Garnished with a dusting of cocoa, golden raspberries, and chocolate leaves.
They. Were. Delicious. So please don’t be shy about voting for them to win this month.
The competition is, as always, for some spiffy prizes—check them out here:
ETSY artist ART ON THE MENU is offering up an awesome little cardboard cupcake, and there’s a pair of cupcake earrings from Lots of Sprinkles. There’s also this cute t-shirt from Bakelove Bakewear, as well as HEAD CHEFS by FIESTA PRODUCTS, the book HELLO CUPCAKE by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson, adorable kitchenwear by JESSIE STEELE APRONS; the CUPCAKE COURIER to ensure good cupcake transportation; and TASTE OF HOME books. Iron Cupcake:Earth is sponsored in part by 1-800-Flowers, (who actually has a floral arrangement shaped like a cupcake; if you know someone could use either a cupcake or flowers and can’t decide which to send, it seems like a great compromise).
Voting will begin on Sunday, October 26 at 12 noon at NO ONE PUTS CUPCAKE IN A CORNER and will be open through Thursday, October 30 at 12 noon. Please remember to vote!
More details on the Iron Cupcake competition (including info on how to participate if you want to join in the fun!) are available at the IronCupcake:Earth cuphub.
